Households Below Average Income in Northern Ireland 2009/10

Households Below Average Income in Northern Ireland (HBAI, NI) 2009/10 has been published by the Department for Social Development NI. The data used in the report was taken from the Family Resources Survey (FRS) 2009/10 which was also published today.

The results show that in 2009/10, 24% of the population and 30% of children were living in income poverty (households with incomes below 60% of the median net disposable household income after housing costs). Families with children were found to have a higher proportion in low income than those without children. Lone parents had the highest proportion in low income.

Further information about the HBAI, NI and FRS is available on the Department for Social Development website.
