Men and young adults have lower confidence in their cooking skills

This week, a report was published by safefood which evaluated the cooking and food skills of adults on the island of Ireland.

The research was led by a team from Queen’s University Belfast who developed a survey tool to measure the participant’s cooking ability and food skills.

The researchers found that men and young adults had lower levels of confidence when it came to cooking and used less food and cooking skills like planning ahead, cooking in batches or using up leftovers.

safefood have developed a series of “How to” YouTube videos to help people build confidence in their cooking skills.
