WHO - New technologies to tackle digital marketing of alcohol, tobacco and unhealthy foods aimed at children and adolescents

The impact of digital marketing of alcohol, tobacco and unhealthy foods targeted at children and adolescents was highlighted at an event hosted by the WHO in June. A group of experts and stakeholders from all over Europe pointed at the role of new technology in responding to this emerging issue.

WHO / Europe will further support Members with an online tool that will help governments throughout the Region to monitor and control inappropriate online marketing.

This is an important year for the prevention of NCDs, with the United Nations High-level Meeting on NCDs set to take place in September 2018.
