Simple smoothie - strawberry

Smoothies are one way to eat more fruit


Smoothies only take a few minutes to make. They are also a fun way to get children interested in fruit and involved in the kitchen.


Ingredients - Serves 2 Adults

  • 160g / 5 oz. of frozen strawberries
  • 62g / 2 oz. of low-fat natural yoghurt
  • 90ml / 3 fl oz. of semi-skimmed milk
  • 4 ice cubes
  • 90ml / 3 fl oz. of unsweetened orange juice

Method

  1. Make sure all the ingredients are chilled before use 
  2. Wash the fruit
  3. Blend fruit, yogurt, milk and juice together using a hand held blender or a smoothie maker until creamy
  4. Add ice cubes and blend again
  5. Pour into two glasses and serve immediately
