Aim of the Workshop

The aim of this event is to highlight existing and forthcoming data on the economic cost of obesity, to generate discussion around the implications of the data and how it can be used to maximum effect and to provide examples of the economic evaluation of related projects on the Island of Ireland and their impact on public health.

Who should attend?

Key stakeholders in obesity-related areas, physical activity and food such as those working in government departments, government agencies, health bodies, professional bodies, voluntary organisations, community groups, academia and industry.

The ‘Jervis’ stop on the Red Luas tram line is a short five minutes’ walk from the hotel.

From Dublin Airport

Exit the Airport and take the M1 Motorway to Dublin City Centre. As you approach the City continue on Dorset Street to Bolton Street, leading right onto North King Street. Turn left onto Church Street at the traffic lights. Continue down to the River Liffey and turn left just before the bridge onto the North Quays.

Pass the Four Courts on your left and junctions at two bridges until you approach a foot bridge. The hotel is situated on the corner just before the Millennium Foot Bridge. Turn left onto Swift’s Row / Jervis Street. The Morrison Hotel entrance is on your immediate left at the side of the building

From Belfast & the North

Follow the main Dublin road (A1/E1) from Belfast, and over the border on the M1. As you approach the City continue on Dorset Street to Bolton Street, leading right onto North King Street. From Cork, Limerick & the South

Follow the main Dublin road from either Cork or Limerick until you get to the M7 on the outer ring of Dublin City. Follow the Naas Road towards the City Centre. This road will bring you onto Dublin’s North Quays.
